Artist Statement:

I want my work to be exciting and original and encourage the viewer to experience the emotions that I feel as I paint. I love working with vibrant colors which express the joy that I experience as I am painting. I love various mediums, and I know that I can do a particular painting with oil rather than acrylic because that is what I feel. Some subjects “speak to me” and tell me that they should be rendered in oil paint or acrylic or water color for example. When I am working on a portrait, it is as if the painting has become part of my being. Although the model may not be physically present and I am working from a photo, I feel the presence of the individual who coming to life on the canvas.”

Deborah has accepted selective art commissions.
